INDIA) Excellent Condition In this listing Oldmarlees is featuring an extremely decorative solid brass Compote with it's matching cover. Other than tarnish, light scratches and blemishes to the polished areas normally found on older brass pieces we can see no major damages to note. There are rough spots on the edge and underside portion of the lid's handle which appears to us to have been hand made (hammered). The bottom of the piece is engraved with "H.K.", "Made in INDIA" and "1745 C". This entire brass compote is elaborately finished with either the intricateetched floral design (hand painted turquoise and red background) or a smooth polished natural brass finish. The diameter of the piece is 5 3/4 inches. It stands about 5 inches tall with the cover on. The brass is a thick 3/16" thick throughout, even the 5/8" decorative drip rim! This is definitely a high quality and collectible India Made solid brass piece that would display well in any office or home. Don't hesitate to add it to your own personal collection!!
