The previous owner, a collector of Northwood, insisted that this bowl is indeed a "Wine Ruby"Amethyst Northwood Carnival Glass piece, marked with only a circular plunger imprint on the bottom. It is free of chips, cracks or other damages. Measuring 8" in diameter, this intriguing bowl has a 3" in diameter thick round base. It's glass is perfectly smooth on the outside but starting in the very center of the bowl is the raised round olive pattern which extends completely to within 3/8" of the inner top of the rim. As the sides of the bowl flow outwards forming the ruffled design, the round olive designs elongate to form more oval shapes as they approach the rim. The base and center of the bowl are more amethyst in color with only a slight carnival effect present - the top 1 1/2" of the bowl being closer to a marigold & amethyst color. Spectacular!!
