This hand painted porcelain S&P set was made in JAPAN. The number "3361" is stamped in black ink on the bottom of each shaker with a red & silver "Made in JAPAN" labelalso affixed nearby - the hen is missing her cork stopper. The Rooster measures about 3 3/4" tall, 3" head to tail and 1 3/4" wide, while the more petite Hen is 2 1/2" tall, 2 5/8" head to tail and 1 1/2" wide. Both shakers are designed with the dispensing holes in the back side of their tail feathers. Other than some paint loss, they are in nice shape - no chips, cracks or other damages to note. This is a 1940's - 1950's VINTAGE Rooster & Hen set that would definitely add a touch of class to any collection.
